Fredericksburg Orchestra’s performance at the Van der stuken Festival

Thanks to Dr. Larry Wolz, a professor of music at Hardin Simmons Universtiy, and board member Kent Rylander, the Fredericksburg Community Orchestra for setting up a special chamber ensemble to perform a string work by Van Der Stucken at the 2011 Van Der Stucken Festival held on April 15, 2011 at 7:30 p.m.

Wolz sent a copy of a score entitled Ein Kleiner Walzer to the orchestra. Theresa Britt created an arrangement of the piece and parts for a small group to play at this 2011’s Van Der Stucken festival. It was be the 100th anniversary of the publication date of the piece. Although it was surely to have been performed by some ensemble over the last 100 years, we feel that it is suitably revived by a string ensemble from Van Der Stucken’s own home town.
