Our Ensembles

The Community Orchestra
for advancing players
The Community Orchestra meets twice each month on Sundays in Fredericksburg. The music we work on is performed at a variety of concerts in our community Ensemble members have been studying for multiple years and perform violin, viola, cello and bass. This terraced ensemble will perform classical masterpieces appropriate for each member. The most advanced players will perform a variety or pieces.

Poco Strings
for beginning young players
Our beginning string classes are intended to provide a foundation in playing in an ensemble using a Suzuki in the Classrooms approach. Students will have a great time learning and mastering melodies and playing together. These classes start with a beginner boot camp in the summer and continue through the fall and spring semesters meeting weekly on Tuesday afternoons.

Little Symphony
for beginner readers
Our second level of string classes will work on playing in multiple parts while beginning to read music. Students will learn a variety of ensemble techniques including bowings, dynamics, and playing in a string orchestra setting. These classes meet each week on Tuesdays during the school year.

Sempre Strings
for beginners of all ages
Not all beginning string players start as young children. This ensemble is designed for players who are beginning at a variety of ages including high school and adult. These classes begin during the summer with a beginning boot camp and continue through the Fall meeting twice a month on Sundays.
